- Persons with identified barriers to securing and/or maintaining employment - Ready and willing to prepare for, obtain and maintain work - 16 years of age or over and legally eligible to work in Canada Making it Work is an approved service provider for Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) – Employment Supports. However, you do not have to be in receipt of ODSP in order to qualify for service. |

CMHA Peterborough Vocational Services offers a safe environment in which health, mutual respect, healing and growth can flourish, and where people can develop and nurture their educational and employment goals. Vocational Services includes REACH, a self directed resource centre and Making it Work, a supported employment program. REACH offers access to technology and essential job search resources. Assistance is available with resume and cover letter development, computer literacy, employment support workshops and life skills programming. REACH is staffed by Peer Support Workers (an individual who has personal knowledge of the mental health system). Through experience, education and training our staff will help you move toward recovery. Making it Work delivers a broad range of services to enhance an individual’s employment potential. Services include career planning, development of a realistic and viable employment plan, identification of strategies to overcome employment barriers, coordination of supports, employment preparation, job placement (unpaid and paid), and job retention support to ensure employment is maintained.
