Free language Assessment through the LINC (Language Instruction for New Canadians) Program

LINC Home Study

Host Program- volunteers are matched with newcomers for social orientation in the community; English practice and friendly support in the first few months in Canada and or Peterborough

Employment Assistance Service - one on one consultation is provided to foreign trained professionals who are seeking assessment, evaluation and accreditation in their fields. Staff work to facilitate clients' journey through these processes.

Enhanced Language Training - ELT, is a partnership between NCCP and the Community Opportunities Innovation Network (COIN) and Trent U ESL. This program offers business and business language training to clients interested in pursuing their own businesses.

Social Activities - monthly potlucks; group trips; community gardens

Community outreach - organize events, group sessions; training on issues of racism, immigration and cross-cultural communication. Work with local media to counter stereotypes and xenophobic attitudes.
