Service Description
  1. Employment Resource Centre
    • Open to public for job search
    • Access to computers, resources, printers, fax, phones
    • Employment Counsellor on duty
    • All services free of charge
  2. Employment Ontario Employment Services
    • Individual career and employment counselling, job development
    • Access to other programs (eg. Second Career)
    • Employer services - training incentives, job postings, coordination / hosting of job fairs, recruitment and hiring
    • All services free of charge
  3. Youth Job Connection (between the ages of 15-29)
    • Support for youth seeking employment
    • To gain work skills and experience through the program
    • Up to a full 26 weeks of on-the-job training, paid
    • Ongoing support from Youth Counsellors
    • Assistance in developing an action plan to help set goals / a plan for the future
    • Training and Certificate opportunities
    • All services free of charge
  4. 50+ Job Club
    • Support for mature workers using group information sessions geared to their specific needs 
    • Wednesday mornings 9:30 am-12:00 pm for information and peer support
    • All services free of charge
  5. Youth Job Connection - Summer Program               
    • Eligibility: between 15-18 years old and planning on returning to school in the fall
    • Assistance for participants in obtaining summer employment
    • 20 yours paid pre-employment workshops and a work placement up to 8 weeks
    • All services free of charge
  6. Educational Services  
    • General Educational Development (GED)
      • Obtain a certificate of Grade 12 recognized by the Ministry of Education
      • Registration for Ministry test required
      • Fee:  $115
    • GED Pre-Test
      • Pre-test prior to Ministry test to assist in preparation
      • Offered monthly - evenings
      • Fee:  $50 
    • Certified First Aid / CPR "C" / AED
      • 1 day emergency certificate $85
      • 2 day standard certificate  $125 
    • Smart Serve Ontario
      • Certification legally required for those 18 and over who work or are seeking work in a licenced establishment where alcohol is served
      • Fee:  $50
    • WHMIS
      • Training to avoid illness or injury associated with hazardous material
      • Fee: $70
    • Service Excellence
      • Beneficial for those working or seeking work in customer service environments - e.g. hospitality, retail, call centres, etc.
      • Fee: $125
    • STRONG Interest Inventory
      • Helps measure career interests and assists people in making career changes or in finding employment
      • Fee: $30
    • Working With Heights Training                   
      • WAH Training's Ministry of Labour - approved course
      • Basic theory and practical equipment training
